First, you need to make sure your human has put a treat inside...NEVER accept a kong without a treat in it!!!!
Next, give it a good wiff, make sure it passes the sniff test....
Now you have approx. 30 seconds to get that treat out!!!! Remember, practice makes perfect. My humans like to put in a couple of treats figuring it will keep me occupied a little longer, huh what dummies!!!!
After you have devoured your treat, you need to lodge your teeth into the hole. Make sure you have a good grip on it because the next step can be a bit tricky...
Now give it a good flip up to make sure you have gotten all the crumbs out.
I like to call this move, "good to the last drop". I had mom take this pic at a different angle to make sure you get the idea....and if your lucky enough, you just might get another treat out of it!!!!
That is quite the skill there! I fill my kongs with wet food, stuff the treats in the food and freeze so they take a bit longer!
ReplyDeleteThat's the way girl! You sure teach others how to KONG. I am a KONG expert too.
ReplyDeleteAnd guess what? *whisper* I think you're very cute (;

Hi Miley,
ReplyDeleteYou have a very good technique there. I kinda got into trouble with my kong. Banjo is always trying to take it from me so he caused a fight last time. Mom put it away in the cabinet. I told her she needs to buy Banjo his own.

Nice "Kong" job! We have 2 Kongs and I(Samantha) just love them. I hog them all the time! I even take it outside. It got wee bit frozen yesterday in the snow.

ReplyDeleteFor being a yr old pup, you sure are smart about how to work that thing!! My cousin Jake has one too and he loves it. His mom puts peanut butter in his and he thinks he died and went to heaven!!

No wonder I haven't played with my Kong lately. The tall guy doesn't put treats inside any more!
ReplyDeleteHi Miley!
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to work that Kong!
you know I once read a true story of this dog that came from a puppy mill and she was so sick from giving birth to all those puppies that she couldn't keep much food down and wouldn't eat, but when she finally got to a rescue they fed her by putting her food inside a Kong and she ate it.
WOWZA! You are furry dedicated to get at your treat! We see that you were making good use of your toenails to grab that darned thing to get at your snack☺
