Heat Wave

We are in the middle of a heat wave here in the Northeast, today's high is suppose to be 94 degrees.

So we thought today would be a good day to remind everyone how dangerous these temps can be for not only humans but for us dogs as well. Especially when irresponsible humans leave us in hot cars, even if its only to run in to purchase an ice coffee. As you can see in the chart below, it takes just minutes for the temp in your car to become deadly.

So please leave us at home where it is much cooler.

Be on the lookout for dogs who are left behind in a vehicle and do something about it, cracking the window is not enough!

  3. EXCELLENT POST...

We have special COOLING PADS that mom puts in Jennifer fur us. We lay on them and they keep us nice and comfy fur 3 hours... then she puts them in the Cooler with the Blue Ice thingys and in 30 mins. POOF all cool and ready to go fur another 3 hours... BUTT she NEVER leaves us in the car by ourselves... even WITH our Cooling Pads.

  4. Thanks for posting the reminder. So many people just do not think before taking their dogs on drives to run errands in the summer.

  5. Oh, yes! It's gonna be a hot one here too! Same temp! Except we have no humidity...BOL (are you jealous?! hehehe)
And, yes, we should always leave the pups at home if we can't take them with us!
    Kisses,

  7. It's great advice that all should remember. But I have to confess that I had Cissy with me today and left her in the van while I ran into the drug store--I used a stop watch and was in and out in just about 4 minutes. But even with both windows in my van left down, and parked in the shade, with a cross breeze, I thought it still felt too warm for her and I think she would have agreed. I won't be doing it again, no matter how important what I needed is.
