This 2 lb bag of mix makes 10 lbs. of food!
As you can see above, the ingredient list is quite impressive.
As much as mom loves what's in the food and that it's made in the USA, she is just as happy with what's NOT in the food.
No GMO's, grains, soy, by-products, fillers, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors and no added sugar or salt.
After opening the bag we were pleasantly surprised by a little bag of treats.
Remember, this bag is just the mix, you have to add water and let it soak for at least 15 minutes to fully activate the nutrients and enzymes.
They have an easy to follow feeding chart on the back of the bag with your dog's weight and their activity level so you know the right amount to feed your dog.

Here it is after we added 3 3/4 cups water to 2 1/2 cups mix.
Bruin couldn't understand why he had to wait so long for the taste-test or why he had to sit on that silly chair! Lol
Yup, that's me in the background wondering why I wasn't on the other side of the gate...
Finally, mom dished some out for me and it's time for the good stuff, but not before she gets a shot of the food after it has soaked...
First the look-test...
Lastly, the taste-test...
Bruin thoroughly enjoyed licking all the liquid first and then eating what was left. He certainly didn't mind that it wasn't his usually crunchy kibble that he tends to inhale whole.
This was definitely a nice change, it is recommended on the package to gradually transition your dog to this food over 7-10 days.
This made a big batch which can be kept in the fridge up to four days.
Mom said she will definitely continue to give Bruin a little bit each day and if he continues to enjoy it she will let Maggie and I have a try of our own.
If you'd like to learn more about Sojos Dog Food you can watch the video below.
I'll be interest to hear how you get on with this as we have a less than good experience with raw food and our previous dog. Would you mind doing an update in a week or so ?

Thanks for the thorough review - we like the looks of those ingredients too.
ReplyDeleteArty is a big fan of Sojos! He has environmental allergies, and we have switched to raw to see if it helps. On the other hand, Dory's stomach cannot handle raw as well, so she (along with Bilbo and Jakey) still eat kibble.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great review!!
We don't have that over here but we were sent some and needless to say it was gobbled up. Enjoy. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
For some reason we do not like this food, mom has even tried to hide it in our dry food and we refuse to eat it.....

I like the ingredient list. I eat raw food, so I will add this to my list of raw brands to try. Mom prefers to use dehydrated/freeze-dried raw food when we travel because it isn't easy to pack frozen meat. BOL!

Pepper
We love Sojos! Mom would always make it ahead of time and have in the fridge so it would be totally reconstituted and we would not have to wait for it.

15 minutes of waiting for food is like a lifetime!!! I would be napping already!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like it would be pretty tasty! I bet Mauja and Atka would love to have some added to their food every now and then.
ReplyDeleteBruin, you are so patient... and very expressive! glad you liked it!
ReplyDeleteHa, our crew would be pacing around the kitchen while waiting! That ingredient list is definitely impressive, as well as what's not in it. We're interested in raw food, and wonder if there is a difference between freeze dried raw food and other raw food.
ReplyDeleteLots of wags and woofs from the crew at Wag n Woof Pets
We tried that. Our issue is that it is quite pricy to feed. The dogs did like it. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post and dogs are really cute! Dogs like great food and now days there are so many Dog Food Online available.
