The beef patties are large freeze-dried discs they you can either serve your dog as is (if they drink plenty of water with their meal) or rehydrate them with a little water.
Since this is our first experience with raw dog food, we decided to rehydrate the discs for the dogs. As with all dog food changes, we slowly transitioned the dogs onto the raw food. We started with a small amount and gradually increased the amount every few days.
Preparing the beef patties is super easy and takes just a couple of minutes. For the sake of this post, we hydrated two patties but there is a table on the bag that shows the number of patties to feed your dog based on their weight.
Since the Golden's are over 40lbs., it is suggested to use the patties as a mixer or topper with dried food so that is what we have been doing and it has been working out well.
3 Steps in Preparing Freeze-Dried Raw Dog Food
Preparing these beef patties is super easy, just break up the pattie into pieces, add a 1/4 cup of water for every two patties and mix until the entire pattie has been hydrated.
The minute the water hit the patties, Bruin couldn't wait for it to get in his bowl...
or on his tongue...
Stella & Chewy's pride themselves in making all of their products in their Wisconsin plant and sourcing every ingredient in this product from reputable North American, Australian and New Zealand suppliers.
We are so happy to learn that these beef patties contain no added hormones or antibiotics, no grains or fillers, no gluten and no preservatives or colorings.
After three weeks, we are happy to report the Goldens are still enjoying their new raw diet. Their skin and fur are looking great and their bellies are handling the change quite well! I love how easy it is to prepare, there is no guess work, just add water, mix and serve.
Stay tuned for our last post with our final post and video of the Goldens enjoying their new food!

Sure looks easy and tasty too! We like their freeze dried toppers.
ReplyDeleteI had fed these to Harlow during my detail in the Grand Teton's last year - she was so active she was losing weight and I wanted her to have something that encouraged her to eat. These worked wonders and I loved how simple they were to prepare. ...and she was positively manic about me getting her dish on the ground. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review!
